Upstairs at the Stand Comedy Club Serves up Weekend Brunch
Comedy clubs are not usually known for the quality of their food and beverages, but The Stand, located at 239 Third Avenue, is an exception to the rule, offering a diverse array of dining options at its restaurant, the aptly-named Upstairs at The Stand. We at Flatiron Hot! had a chance to sample some of the club’s dishes last week, and they tasted even better than they look. But don’t just take our word for it.
On Saturday, December 15 and Sunday, December 16 from 11:30 PM through 5:00 PM, the Stand will be hosting brunches to showcase some of its best dishes, all prepared by Executive Chef Seth Levine, a former contestant on Hell’s Kitchen and a veteran of such notable restaurants as RSVP and Georgica.
Whether you’re craving breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Upstairs at the Stand is putting everything on the table. Cookie dough pancakes, breakfast tots, chicken pot pie bread bowls and portobello mushroom burgers are only a few of the many dishes attendees will have to choose from. Is your mouth watering yet? Prices range from $9 to $11, with side options starting at $6.
For those looking to get a little morning buzz, the Stand will also offer several of its signature cocktails, including the Blood and Sand with with Dewars blended scotch, Carpano sweet vermouth and Cherry Herring.
Unfortunately, stand-up will not be on the brunch menu this weekend, but we recommend that you check out The Stand’s comedy shows at your first opportunity. Although only in business for a short time, The Stand has already featured top-notch comedians such as Jim Gaffigan, Colin Quinn, Dave Attell, and Liz Miele, to name just a few. All this, and tickets usually sell for only $15. Oh, and there’s no two-drink minimum.
