Happy July 4th to the Flatiron District and its Residents! Enjoy the View and Fireworks – Don’t Miss the Light Show at the Empire State Building
Reporting and Editing by: Sade Jones, Jessamyn Meneghin and the Flatiron Hot! Editorial Staff
It’s that time of year again – July 4thth! Everybody here at the NYCSCC and the Flatiron Hot! News staff encourages all of our patrons to come out and enjoy that quintessential NYC summer event – the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks spectacular being staged along the Hudson River. For the best view, head to 12th Avenue below West 59th Street. If you are near our 23rd Street location, there is access to the fireworks on 24, 26, 27, and 29th Streets along 11th Avenue. The show begins at approximately 9 pm, but we advise you to get there a little early to ensure a great spot! Thanks to our friends at the Flatiron 23rd Street Partnership for summarizing all the details for the neighborhood … see this link.
For those of you in the Flatiron District, if you have a view of the Empire State Building, you will have the pleasure of watching an additional light show during the last five minutes of the fireworks.
Please note: The East River, Battery Park, Battery Park City, Brooklyn Bridge Park, the Hudson River Piers (except limited access to Pier 84), Hudson River Park Promenade (between W. Houston and 59th Street), and the Hudson River Park bike path (between W. Houston and 59th Street) are not viewing points for the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks.
This year’s show incorporates music by Jimi Hendrix, Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Sam Cooke, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Frank Sinatra and Usher. If you are unable to come out and watch the fireworks in New York City, you can watch them on NBC at 8 pm EST. After the week of rain that New York City has endured, the warm summer evening predicted for the 4th of July will be a delightful way to celebrate your Independence Day. All of us at NYC Seminar and Conference Center wish everybody a happy and healthy July 4th. Enjoy the show and the neighborhood.
