Well, now I have seen it all! As I walked by the Flatiron Public Plazas on Wednesday morning, it looked as if a pair of giant life-size translucent bubbles had touched down right at the base of the Flatiron Building! A closer look revealed them to be private venues for quick talk therapy sessions, as part of an intriguing display of the new “TalkSpace” app for your phone and tablets.
Yes, since there is an app for everything else, why not instant talk therapy when you’re feeling down or if you need a quick dollop of helpful advice? That’s what it was all about – TalkSpace was inviting bystanders and passers-by to check into their bubbles and sample the app. According to reps on hand, all the therapists are duly licensed “talk therapists” (whatever that means) and if you are prepared to fork over your hard-earned cash starting at the reasonable cost of $25 dollars per week, you can participate. What will they think of next? For those interested you can check out their website at www.talkspace.com, and they will be in the Flatiron Public Plaza North today and tomorrow (Wednesday and Thursday, November 5th and 6th). For your time and trouble you can pick up a $25 coupon towards your therapy to help you get started. Come see, or check out our quick Flatiron Hot! News video clip below.
