Bridgeton Holdings, which operates various hotels around the city, including the Wyndham Garden Chelsea West, right around the corner from the New York City Seminar and Conference Center, celebrated the re-imagining of their Jade Hotel on West 13th Street off 6th Avenue as the “Walker Hotel Greenwich Village”, with an open bar and hors d’oeuvres at Grape & Vine, a charming restaurant on the first floor of the hotel. The renaming is in honor of a new hotel on Walker Street (to be called “The Walker Hotel Tribeca”, which will be completed within the next 18 months, and will be the flagship hotel in a new chain – all part of the new brand to be called, fittingly, “The Walker Hotel Collection”).
The Walker Hotel on 13th Street lit up at night!
At the event in Grape & Vine, many invitees who have some type of working relationship with the Bridgeton-owned hotels were able to socialize and network either right by the bar, or at tables in the back of the restaurant near a roaring fireplace. Drinks were of course served to order by the bartenders and the food was brought around by well-dressed waiters on platters for guests to taste. Examples of the food they served include crab cakes, flatbread with mushrooms and cheese, and foie gras, which consisted of goose liver on a cracker topped with a fruity sauce.
The hosts of the event were eager to take guests who were curious about the newly branded hotel up to the 17th floor to see a sample suite that showed off what the hotel has to offer. The main room of the suite came equipped with all of the staples of a place that makes you feel at home, such as a bed, a night stand, cabinets, a sofa chair, and a TV, and was expertly furnished with strategically placed mirrors and lamps to add character and ambiance. The suite also has a patio where you can admire the great view of the Manhattan skyline and a spacious bathroom that has both a shower and a Jacuzzi. The suite seemed like the perfect place to relax after a busy day in the city.
As an employee of New York City Seminar and Conference Center, I went to this event to show our company’s appreciation for our relationship. They refer people that are staying with them to have a meeting or event with us and we can recommend people that are having a meeting with us and need a place to stay nearby to go to one of their hotels. Many of their hotels, particularly the Wyndham Garden Chelsea West, are within walking distance of the site of our Conference Center, so it really is convenient for customers to take advantage of both our services. Business people who want to get things done in a vibrant area of New York City will surely have a positive experience with our companies.
