On the corner of Broadway and 27th Street you will find Cha Cha Matcha, a flamingo-pink shop with neon signs, upbeat music, and dancing employees. According to Cha Cha Matcha’s website, matcha is a green powder derived from green tea leaves that contains caffeine, L-theanine, and antioxidants that support a healthy body and healthy mind. This place is a perfect stop for a matcha latte or a matcha-infused bakery item before heading to your meeting at the NYC Seminar and Conference Center.
The pink decor and green plants lining the shop transport you to a tropical climate with a relaxed vibe. The employees are friendly and accommodating, occasionally dancing to upbeat pop music. People come here to relax and enjoy a drink, for casual business meetings, and to snap pictures of the trendy interior.
I ordered the matcha latte, which had a smooth, earthy flavor from the matcha, mixed with the subtle sweetness of the almond milk. As advertised, the latte made me feel “jitter-free, calm, focused energy.” It was just the right amount of caffeine to feel energized, but was not overbearing.
Because we are in the middle of a hot summer, I also tried the vanilla soft serve, which had a refreshing, vanilla bean flavor that was perfect to cool down on a hot summer day. Be sure to try the matcha-flavored soft serve, as well! To read more about ice cream spots in the Flatiron District, click here.
You can find Cha Cha Matcha at 1158 Broadway, or call (646) 895-9484. Check out their website for more information, here.
